About the Role
The World Health Organization (WHO) in Zambia seeks a qualified Nutrition Specialist to support the Ministry of Health in improving nutrition data quality and systems. The consultant will lead the execution of a study aimed at addressing challenges in nutrition data monitoring and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical input for study protocol development and submit to ethics by 14 February 2025.
Supervise and orient data collectors at study sites, commencing data collection by 21 February 2025.
Deliver technical supervision reports on retrospective data findings by 14 March 2025.
Compile main reports for retrospective and prospective data findings by 31 March 2025.
Finalize the main report on study findings by 30 April 2025.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
Essential: BSc in Food and Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition.
Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Public Health, Epidemiology, or Demography.
Experience
Essential: At least 5 years of experience in nutrition monitoring and DHS2.
Desirable: Expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation.
Skills
Knowledge of nutrition indicators and data elements.
Proficiency in electronic data collection tools.

Location and Travel
The consultant will be based in Lusaka, Zambia.

Remuneration
A monthly wage will be provided for the 2-month contract.
Living expenses are payable for internationally recruited consultants.
