About the Role

The Energy Access Officer will play a vital role in advancing Zambia’s clean energy initiatives under the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) program. Based in Lusaka, this position supports SEforALL’s collaboration with the Government of Zambia, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP). The project focuses on scaling Zambia’s mini-grid sector, with a vision to improve access to renewable energy and combat energy poverty.

The project aims to deploy 1,000 mini-grids across Zambia, starting with a proof-of-concept phase of 100 mini-grids. This initiative prioritizes stakeholder engagement, sustainable program design, and knowledge transfer to local communities, fostering long-term energy solutions and green job creation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to country coordinators for communication and project implementation.

Contribute to developing investment-grade policy and regulatory frameworks for renewable energy.

Support program design focused on scalability, financial viability, and socio-economic impact.

Facilitate stakeholder activation and capacity building to strengthen in-country expertise.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Energy, Engineering, Law, Political Science, or a related field.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in renewable energy projects, policy development, or program management.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required.
