Key Responsibilities
– Provide legal advice on refugee protection and asylum matters in Zambia
– Draft legal documents and position papers on refugee rights and protection
– Advise on Zambian refugee law and policy implementation
– Coordinate with Zambian government authorities on refugee legal matters
– Support refugee status determination processes in Zambia
– Provide legal counseling to refugees and asylum seekers
– Work with the Commissioner for Refugees office in Zambia
– Contribute to refugee protection projects in Zambian settlements
Required Qualifications
– Law degree from a recognized Zambian university or equivalent
– Knowledge of Zambian refugee law and international humanitarian law
– Understanding of Zambia’s legal framework for refugee protection
– Experience in legal research and document drafting
– Excellent command of English and local Zambian languages
– 1 year relevant experience with undergraduate degree OR graduate degree with no experience

– Mayukwayukwa Refugee Settlement
– Meheba Refugee Settlement
– Mantapala Refugee Settlement
– Urban areas including Lusaka
