About the Role

Puma Energy is seeking a Retail Automation & POS Specialist in Lusaka, Zambia, to drive the integration and maintenance of automation systems in fuel retail. This role ensures seamless POS operations, troubleshoots technical issues, supports retail staff, and optimizes inventory and sales performance. Key responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, adhering to industry compliance, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and customer experience in retail automation.

Key Responsibilities

1. POS System Management

Install, configure, and maintain POS systems at fuel retail sites.

Perform updates and upgrades, ensuring system security and efficiency.

Work with vendors to resolve technical issues and optimize performance.

2. Technical Support

Provide technical support for POS issues at retail sites.

Resolve hardware/software issues and act as an escalation point.

Maintain technical documentation and user guides.

3. Vendor and Security Management

Collaborate with POS vendors to ensure compliance with PCI DSS.

Implement security measures and data protection standards.

4. Staff Training

Conduct training sessions on POS usage and best practices.

Develop user guides to support efficient system use.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Finance, or a related field.

Technical proficiency in automation and POS systems.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

Knowledge of oil and gas retail operations, inventory management, and payment security standards.
