Job Purpose

As the Operations Superintendent – Dry Plant, you will oversee the Crushing, Milling, and Gravity Gold sections of the Process Plant. Your focus will be on optimizing production, controlling costs, and ensuring operational sustainability while adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Zambian laws and safety standards.

Manage equipment and personnel from the primary crusher to gravity concentrators.

Maintain high HSE standards and plant housekeeping.

Optimize plant availability, utilization, and performance to meet production goals.

Liaise with Mine Planning teams to align blending plans and achieve budgets.

Develop and implement maintenance and production schedules.

Monitor and report on KPIs, operational shortfalls, and performance metrics.

Facilitate collaboration between mining, metallurgical, and process teams to drive continuous improvement.

Lead and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring skill transfer to national staff.

Prepare and manage annual operational budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years in technical/operational roles in flotation circuits.

At least 5 years in a senior supervisory or management role.

Experience in large-scale base metals processing plants, preferably copper.

Proven expertise in process optimization and plant design.

Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Proficiency in technical, production, and maintenance strategies.

Ability to build and lead successful teams in a multicultural environment.

Strong computer literacy and report preparation skills.
