Job Overview

DHL International Zambia Limited is hiring a Clearing Agent in Lusaka. This role ensures accurate and timely customs declarations while providing guidance on customs-related matters. If you have experience in customs clearance and compliance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and prompt customs declarations using ASYCUDA World and Anaconda.

Provide guidance on customs compliance to internal teams such as Customer Service, Sales, Finance, and Operations.

Collaborate with customs authorities to resolve disputes, claims, and queries.

Prioritize clearance flows to ensure fast transit times for shipments.

Maximize pre-clearance opportunities in line with service guidelines.

Maintain updated customer records and ensure accurate customs declarations.

Follow VAT laws, customs regulations, and other legal frameworks during clearance processes.

Ensure professional customer service, meeting both internal and external client needs.

Adhere to DHL’s Global Standard Operating Procedures (GSOP) and quality standards.

Assist supervisors and the Operations Manager with daily tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Tools

Proficiency in ASYCUDA World, Anaconda, Sherloc, and GIA.

Strong understanding of customs compliance and VAT regulations.

PC literacy, including advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications and Experience

Full Grade 12 Certificate.

Diploma in Customs Clearances or related field.

At least 3 years of experience in customs clearance or logistics.
