Are you an experienced Occupational Health Nurse looking for an exciting healthcare career opportunity in Zambia? Lumwana Mining Company, part of Barrick’s dynamic organization, is recruiting highly committed Occupational Health Nurses to join our Occupational Health and Safety Department at our Kalumbila site in the North West Province of Zambia.

About the Role

As an Occupational Health Nurse in Zambia, you will be the first point of contact for all employees, contractors, and business partners accessing occupational health services at Lumwana Mine. Working closely with Occupational Health Doctors and Industrial Hygiene Coordinators, your role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality occupational health care. This position is ideal for candidates dedicated to upholding integrity, results-driven care, and a commitment to zero harm in a mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Excellence:

Register clients and accurately input data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Assist clients in completing documentation for occupational health examinations.

Client Screening & Triage:

Check vital signs, measure weight and height, and perform musculoskeletal screening tests.

Conduct spirometry, audiometry, and vision tests using specialized equipment and ensure abnormal readings are correctly interpreted.

Documentation & Follow-Up:

Upload screening results to the EHR system and maintain comprehensive client medical files.

Ensure all necessary documentation (consent forms, screening/examination records, lab results, diagnostic tests, fitness to work certificates, injury on duty reports) is complete.

Schedule and manage timely follow-up visits for further assessments.

Clinical Duties:

Perform otoscopic examinations prior to audiometry testing (after receiving appropriate training).

Adhere strictly to the Infection Control Policy and other occupational health guidelines.

Additional Tasks:

Execute other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the Occupational Health team.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for the Occupational Health Nurse job in Zambia, you must meet the following requirements:

Educational Background:

Grade 12 School Certificate.

Diploma in Registered Nursing.

Occupational health nursing training and certification (preferred).

Certification in Audiometry, Spirometry, and Vision testing (an asset).

Professional Credentials:

A current practicing nursing license.

Membership with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia.

Experience & Skills:

At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in computer applications.

Strong management, communication, observation, and analytical skills.
