Job Overview
Lumwana Mining Company, part of Barrick, is hiring a skilled Light Vehicle/Light Truck Mechanic to join our Maintenance Team. We seek a motivated professional to uphold Barrick’s core values, including integrity, accountability, and a commitment to sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on light vehicles and trucks.

Inspect and report on contractors’ light vehicles entering the site.

Maintain specialized machinery located off-site.

Request spare parts and monitor stock levels to avoid shortages.

Assess work tasks, issue safety permits, and process work requests.

Ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operational performance.

Promote workplace safety and productivity.

Qualifications and Requirements

Full Grade 12 Certificate.

Craft Certificate or Technician Qualification in Automotive Mechanics/Heavy Equipment Repair from a recognized institution.

Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

Minimum of 2 years of mining experience in large-scale operations.

Valid Driver’s License.

Strong communication skills in English.

Knowledge of safe working practices in mining operations.
