Job Purpose
As a Procurement Officer, you will manage purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and ensure materials arrive on time to support Kansanshi Mining PLC operations. You will coordinate with suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to maintain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure timely procurement of goods and services as per company policies.
Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders and track deliveries.
Expedite orders to meet operational timelines.
Maintain compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards.
Provide pricing data for budgeting, tenders, and contract administration.
Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain material availability.
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve procurement-related queries.
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and financial regulations.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 Certificate
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (minimum CIPS Level 5) or related field
Membership with ZIPS
At least 5 years’ experience in purchasing and contract administration, preferably in mining jobs in Zambia
Strong communication, negotiation, and reporting skills
Experience in procurement systems, preferably PRONTO
Knowledge of warehousing, accounting, and audit procedures
Understanding of copper mining and treatment operations
Behavioral Traits
Strong team player with the ability to work independently
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
