About the Role
Are you an experienced communications and coordination professional looking for UN jobs in Zambia? UNFPA Zambia is seeking a Senior Inter-Agency Coordination Consultant to lead vital health sector partnerships and gender initiatives in Lusaka.
As the incoming Chair of Zambia’s Health Cooperating Partners Group for 2025, UNFPA plays a crucial role in coordinating development partners in the Zambian health sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with international NGOs, government ministries, and UN agencies in Zambia.
Key Responsibilities
– Manage high-level coordination between development partners, NGOs, and government stakeholders in Zambia’s health sector
– Lead communication strategies for the Health Cooperating Partners Group and UN Gender Theme Group
– Coordinate UNFPA’s work in sexual and reproductive health programs across Zambia
– Facilitate partnerships between international organizations and Zambian government institutions
– Design professional communications materials for UN initiatives in Zambia
– Organize diplomatic and technical meetings with senior government officials and NGO leaders
Required Qualifications
– Master’s degree in Communications, International Development, Public Health, or related field
– 5+ years of experience in development sector coordination or NGO management in Zambia
– Proven track record in stakeholder management and partner coordination
– Strong understanding of Zambia’s health sector and development landscape
– Excellence in diplomatic communication and relationship building
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
– Fluent English required
