Sourcing Specialist – FS (Fixed Term)

Lumwana Mining Company (LMC), a part of Barrick, is seeking a dedicated Sourcing Specialist – FS (Fixed Term) to join the Supply Chain Department. This role involves procurement, supplier management, and ensuring project timelines are met while upholding ethical standards and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Source specified goods and services for mining operations.

Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure cost-effective procurement.

Prepare comprehensive price adjudications and ensure adherence to purchasing policies.

Manage procurement within the stipulated time frame, ensuring quality and compliance with HSE standards.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers.

Identify and implement cost-saving business opportunities through supplier negotiations.

Expedite purchase order deliveries to meet project timelines.

Monitor contractor performance and resolve deviations in execution plans.

Administer the purchasing system and support inventory and warehouse functions.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supply or related field.

Experience: Minimum 4 years in supply chain management, preferably in the mining industry.

Skills: Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems, with strong knowledge of international procurement processes.

Membership: Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
