Job Overview: Driver, Light Truck

We are looking for a skilled Light Truck Driver to join our team in Kalumbila. This role is crucial for day-to-day shift operations, supporting our production goals while prioritizing safety and quality. Ideal candidates will have experience in open-pit mining or a similar setup and a commitment to excellence in every task.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Readiness: Report to work well-rested and prepared for duties.

Vehicle Permits & Checks: Ensure all operating permits are current; conduct and complete pre-start inspections.

Operational Safety: Follow all safety guidelines, operating manuals, and signage; adhere to instructions from supervisors.

Hazard Reporting: Identify and report Class A hazards, machine defects, and unsafe conditions promptly.

Daily Targets: Meet daily KPI targets and follow best practices in housekeeping and equipment care.

Team Coordination: Communicate using two-way radio systems and collaborate with the team to minimize downtime.

Skills and Competencies

Machine Knowledge: Familiar with pre-start inspections, identifying machine defects, and emergency shutdown procedures.

Attention to Detail: Focused on safety and quality in every task.

Communication: Excellent verbal skills, active listening, and team collaboration.

Problem-Solving: Capable of adapting to shifting priorities and attending to tasks under minimal supervision.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years driving experience, preferably in an open-pit mining environment.

Education: Full Grade 12 Certificate and specific machine training.
